Ricoh has unveiled a new series of mono production printers that build on previous models.
The new Pro 8400S, 8410S, 8420S plus Pro 8410 and 8420 printers are said to be an “evolution” of the Pro 8300S, 8310S, 8320S plus Pro 8310 and 8320 printers.
The manufacturer said they incorporate “next generation productivity enhancements” designed to elevate the production of a wide range of fast turnaround, on demand applications for in-house, corporate, transactional, and commercial printing environments.
The machines offer an improved scanning speed of up to 280ppm for A4 duplex scanning at 200/300dpi; enhanced paper handling with a new ADF Automatic Document Feeder; and expanded media flexibility to strengthen productivity, with the ability to print on media weights from 52-350gsm and duplex up to 700mm in length.
It also features expanded functionality with finishing options that Ricoh said support smooth, continual throughput and help to streamline workflow by automating tasks.
Recycled plastic and recycled steel have been used in the manufacturing process of the new machines, the output and image quality of which is delivered by Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) imaging technology.
Crisp text, fine lines, and smooth halftones at 2,400x4,800dpi resolution, meanwhile, are enabled by enhanced toner.
Precise handling, even with pre-printed and dark coloured papers, is managed by the Mechanical Registration System, with a Contact Image Sensor (CIS).
Ease of use is powered by a smart operation panel while downtime is minimised by auto jam recovery and an automatic purge function.
Productivity and continual printing without replacing paper and toner is further enabled by multiple Vacuum Feed LCIT trays and twin toner system.
Eef de Ridder, vice president, Graphic Communications at Ricoh Europe, said: “The new series comprises a modular concept to meet evolving business needs, embodying Ricoh’s commitment to contributing to a sustainable society through innovative technology, and to solutions that enhance productivity and user experience.
“This next generation mono press series enables operations to enhance productivity, elevate capabilities, and reduce their environmental impact.”
The new machines can also be integrated with Plockmatic finishing options.
Commercial availability for orders starts from November for the new range, which will be priced competitively at a similar level as the outgoing 8300 series models.
