BEEAH Partners with Greenthesis to launch first PE film recycling facility in the Middle East

BEEAH Group, a leader in sustainability and innovation in the UAE, has partnered with Greenthesis Group, an Italian company specializing in industrial waste management and environmental services, to develop the Middle East’s first polyethylene (PE) film recycling facility in Sharjah. The facility will be located within BEEAH’s integrated waste management complex in the Al Sajaa area. It aims to address the challenge of recycling PE film, a lightweight plastic commonly used in packaging and labels that is difficult to recycle and often contributes to environmental pollution. The plant will convert the PE film into reusable boards, providing a sustainable alternative to plywood for construction projects. The facility will process more than 7,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually. Through a chemical-free process, it will produce durable, reusable boards that can be used in construction and can be recycled again after their lifespan ends, promoting a circular economy. The project is part of BEEAH’s broader goal to reduce landfill waste and enhance resource efficiency. It aligns with their efforts to develop sustainable infrastructure and advance circular economy practices across the UAE and beyond.
